Disclaimer: Warning
The use, misuse or abuse of this program may lead to possible suspension of your Twitter account or blacklisting of your IP address. Autopilot Tweet (AT) was created to limit the amount of requests to 100 per task to safely process your automation without violating Twitter limits. At the time of release, AT currently complies with all Twitter regulations but each task should be done over time to prevent being suspended or blacklisted from Twitter due to the current API limit of 150 requests per hour. In other words, do not attempt to run several tasks back-to-back in one hour or you may be violating the hourly limit. Your success at Twitter is a lifelong marathon, not a fifty yard dash to get as many followers as you can in the shortest amount of time so be persistent and consistent. Don't push the limits unless you are willing to accept the consequences .

The Twitter limits and guidelines are included below. Please review them especially the 150 API requests per hour which means that you should only perform 150 tasks per hour. As a result of these new limits, you should not follow 100 people for several accounts within one hour from any device sharing the same internet connection or perform more than 150 API requests per hour on any combination of tasks or accounts using the same IP address.

Why does Twitter have limits?

Twitter limits alleviate some of the strain on the invisible part of Twitter, which prevents error pages and down time on the visible part. For the sake of reliability (fewer robots and whales) we've placed limits on actions like following, API requests per hour, and number of updates per day. This doesn't restrain reasonable usage, and will not affect most people. Although the limits are a recent addition to Twitter, we've always been about limits, starting with 140 characters per update. We embrace the idea that constraint inspires creativity.

What are the limits?

We're starting with a few limits based on various parameters, and we'll be adding more as time goes on. We reveal some limits only when you reach them, and tell you about others in advance. Twitter currently applies limits to any person who reaches:

1,000 total updates per day, on any and all devices (web, mobile web, phone, API, etc. )
250 total direct messages per day, on any and all devices
150 API requests per hour

We've also placed limits on the number of people you can follow. The number is different for everyone, and is based on a ratio that changes as the account changes. If you hit a follow limit, you must balance your follower/following ratio in order to follow more people- basically, you can't follow 50,000 people if only 23 people follow you. Based on current behavior in the Twitter community, we've concluded that this is both fair and reasonable.

What if I hit a limit?

People using multiple API clients at once may see the per hour API request limit, as usual. Most people will not be affected. If you do reach a limit, we'll let you know with a handy error message letting you know which limit you've hit. With the exception of the follow limit, all limits are time based, so you'll be able to try again in 24 hours. If you have problems with limits, visit our troubleshooting page for more information.

Please note that Autopilot Tweet developers and distributors will not be held liable for any damages or account suspensions caused through the use, accidental misuse or intentional abuse of this software. Using this software inappropriately can put your Twitter account in jeopardy of suspension or result in the blacklisting of your IP address which will prevent you from accessing Twitter from any devices sharing the same IP address so you would not be able to create another Twitter account or access any Twitter pages unless you can change your IP address.

Twitter is somewhat lenient towards normal everyday Twitter users who do not abuse the system, but if you are using this software inappropriately, spamming or simply overusing it then you are putting your account at risk and you do so at your own risk. You have been forewarned. Please do not complain about any consequences issued by Twitter because we have nothing to do with Twitter policies that are subject to change at any moment without notice. It is your responsibility to keep updated with any changes to the Twitter limits and use this software accordingly to remain in compliance.

Installation Instructions - 3 Steps (MUST READ)

Autopilot Tweet installation includes two installation files that need to be installed in proper order. The first installation (Autopilot Tweet Windows Services) requires a restart of your computer before installing the second setup file (Autopilot Tweet setup). If you do not install them in the correct order or do not restart your computer then the program may not function properly so please follow the steps below carefully for successful installation.

Step 1: You will first install the AutopilotWindowService.msi installation file. Double-click that file to install Window Services. Follow the installation wizard to install Window Services first and then restart your computer after successful installation before installing the Autopilot Tweet setup.

Step 2: After successfully installing the Windows Services, you need to restart your computer before the next step.

Step 3: After installing Windows Services and restarting your computer, you will install the Autopilot Tweet program with the AutoPilotTweet.msi installation file. Double-click that file to install Autopilot Tweet using the installation wizard.

Follow these three simple steps in this order for successful installation.

Tasks Overview

All of the automated tasks can be accessed through the top menu on the main page. You will use the TASKS button located on the top menu of the main page of the program. See screenshot below:

Click the Tasks button to reveal a dropdown menu of tasks to choose from: Auto Follow, Auto Unfollow, Follower your Followers, Auto Update Status, etc...

Click the corresponding link in the dropdown menu to perform any one of those tasks. For more information on each task, read below. Before you can perform any tasks, you will need to ADD USER on the main page of the program to add your Twitter account(s).

Add Users:

After installation, you will need to create users (your Twitter accounts). You will see the User Login section near the top middle of the main page of the program. You will enter your Twitter user name and password and then click the "Add User" button to authenticate your account and add that Twitter account as a user. Repeat this process to add more Twitter accounts.

Auto Follow:

Click Tasks > Auto Follow to automatically follow 100 random Twitter users who are likely to follow you back.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Auto Follow from the dropdown menu to launch the Auto Follow pop-up window. You will then select the Twitter account that you would like to use by clicking the account in the 'Twitter Users' section on the left side and adding it to the 'Selected Twitter Users' section on the right side using the arrows. You can use the double arrows for adding all 'Twitter Users' to the 'Selected Twitter Users' section, or you can individually click any 'Twitter User' to highlight that account and click the right arrow to add it to the 'Selected Twitter Users' section. To remove them, highlight them from the 'Selected Twitter Users' section and click the left arrow to remove them from the task at hand.

In order to perform the Auto Follow, you will highlight one of the users in the 'Selected Twitter Users' section and then click the START button located in the upper left corner of the Auto Follow pop-up window. Please allow some time to perform this task.

If you need to stop the Auto Follow task while it is operating, you can click the STOP button which is located on the upper left side of the Auto Follow pop-up window. After you have finished or stopped the task, click the RED X in the upper righthand corner of the Auto Follow pop-up window to close this section. See picture below:

Auto Unfollow:

Click Tasks > Auto Unfollow to automatically unfollow 100 people who are not following you. You can unfollow the people who do not follow you back or stop following you over time which will free you up to follow more people who will follow you back and continue following you.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Auto Unfollow from the dropdown menu to launch the Auto Unfollow pop-up window.

In order to perform the Auto Unfollow, you will highlight one of the users in the 'Selected Twitter Users' section and then click the START button located in the upper left corner of the Auto Unfollow pop-up window. Please allow some time to perform this task.

If you need to stop the Auto Unfollow task while it is operating, you can click the STOP button located on the upper left side of the pop-up window. After you have finished or stopped the task, click the RED X in the upper righthand corner of the pop-up window to close this section.

PROTECTED VIP LIST
(Twitter users you do not want to unfollow even if they do not follow you)
In the Auto Follow section, you have the option of protecting certain people that you follow from being unfollowed. In other words, you may want to follow some people even if they do not follow you back. If you do want to protect anyone from being unfollowed then you will need to list the numeric User ID (numbers) seperated by commas in the section where it says "Who you dont want to unfollow", or the best method is to create a text file of your protected people (see below).

Please note that you do NOT use the screen names or names to protect people.
You have to use the numeric User ID (number), not screen names or names.

In order to find the numeric User ID, make a list of the people's screen names that you want to protect by copying them into Notepad. In the main menu, click Tasks > Find User's ID and Screen Name to find the User ID number (numeric User ID) of any user based on their Twitter screen name. Just copy the screen names in to the "Enter Screen Name" field and click the FIND button to display the numeric User ID number. This number is the numeric User ID that you need to use for the PROTECTED VIP LIST feature. Use the "Copy" link to copy this number User ID to your clipboard. For more info about Find User's ID and Screen Name task, scroll down to that section of the manual or click here.

For best results, create a simple text file with a list of all protected people (User ID numbers) seperated by commas. To create a list, open Notepad and type in the numeric User ID (User ID numbers) for each person that you want to always follow. After typing in all of the numbers for each person seperated by commas, you will save the file as a text file (.txt). The text file would look something like this:

98647764,96694633,23875284,33253255,21434114,29852395,25075320,72499213,
24548265,23525551,20958902,20358095,34293413, 66214233, 53775321, etc...

After creating your text file, you can load the file before using the Auto Unfollow task by clicking the "Select File" button (the arrow button located to the right of the "Select File" field). Click the arrow to browse for your file, find your file, click your file to select it and you have successfully protected the people listed in the file from being unfollowed.

Tip for PROTECTED VIP LIST text file: If possible, it is best to have one text file for all of your Twitter accounts that includes all people in your Protected VIP List for all accounts (one text file, all people). By having one file for all of your Twitter accounts, you can load this file using "Select File" one time and then reuse it for all of your accounts which simplifies the process so you will not have to load a different list for each different account..

You can also select to unfollow people who do not follow you back after a certain period of time. Activate this setting by clicking the checkbox where it says "Unfollow who did not follow you back" and then type in the number of hours to allow before unfollowing them. I suggest using at least 24-48 hours to allow people time to follow you back. I personally do not use this section because it can add requests to your hourly limit that you may be unaware of so I suggest using a simple Auto Unfollow without this setting, but the option was added recently due to customer requests. It can be helpful if you do not want to unfollow someone that you just followed by allowing a time delay before unfollowing them.

If you want to change the number of people to unfollow who are not following you then you can change the number in the lower right side of the Auto Unfollow section where it says "Unfollows for each account". The default setting is 100 unfollows per account to keep in Twitter limits but you could change it if you prefer. Just remember that overusing the program is always done at your own risk.

See picture below:

Follower Your Followers:

Click Tasks > Follow your Followers to automatically follow people who are following you. It is good Twitter karma to follow people who follow you. If you do not follow them back then they might unfollow you so it is wise to regularly use the Follow Your Followers task to maintain your new followers.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Follow your Followers from the dropdown menu to launch the Follow your Followers pop-up window.

To perform the Follow your Followers task, you will highlight one of the users in the 'Selected Twitter Users' section and then click the START button located in the upper left corner of the Follow your Followers pop-up window. Please allow some time to perform this task.

If you need to stop the task while it is operating, you can click the STOP button which is located on the upper left side of the pop-up window. After you have finished or stopped the task, click the RED X in the upper righthand corner of the pop-up window to close this section. See picture below:

Auto Update Status:

Click Tasks > Auto Update Status to create and schedule your tweets to be posted now or anytime in the future according to any chosen time schedule. You can time-release your update statuses and spread out your tweets throughout the day, days or upcoming weeks.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Auto Update Status from the dropdown menu to launch the Auto Update Status pop-up window.

To perform the Auto Update Status task, you will highlight one of the users in the 'Selected Twitter Users' section and then type your message in the "Status for individual" message box (140 character limit). You adjust the time for it to be tweeted using the Delay Time section which allows you to enter a delay of minutes, hours or days when the message will be posted to the selected Twitter account. After you have selected the Twitter account, typed in your tweet message and set your time delay, you can click the SAVE button to have this tweet saved and scheduled for future release. To post a tweet immediately, you can leave the Time Delay blank, or enter 1 minute. Repeat this process for posting many tweets that will be posted over time, simply by selecting/highlighting the Twitter account, changing the "Status for individual" message box to a new tweet , setting a new Delay Time and clicking SAVE.

You also have the option to post the same message for multiple accounts using the section on the right side of the Auto Update Status pop-up window. You can use the arrows to place your Twitter accounts into the "Twitter users with same message" box and then type your message into the bottom section that says "Status for All". This feature is a carryover from earlier release and at the current time, I would not recommend posting the same message for multiple accounts because Twitter does not like multiple accounts being run with the same messages. If you do use this feature, use it at your own risk and be sure to switch it up so there is no pattern of abuse using the same accounts to constantly post the same message which is a big red flag for Twitter that the account is being used for spam or is obviously being used for purposes other than one person or one business.

All of the scheduled tweets will be saved to your computer and they will be tweeted at the time delays that you have selected when saving the update statuses (tweets). If your computer is not running at the time that the scheduled tweet should be posted, it will be posted as soon as your computer has restarted.

After you have finished creating and scheduling your Auto Update Status, you can click the RED X in the upper righthand corner of the pop-up window to close this section. See picture below:

Follow by Keyword:

Click Tasks > Follow by Keyword to automatically follow 100 people based on any keyword. You may be interested in finding followers for a wide range of keywords. Now, you can target your followers based on keywords in their profile or tweets. Looking for followers interested in marketing, affiliates or even something specialized like yoga or ballroom dancing? You can use the Follow by Keyword task to type in keywords tailored to your specific needs and get targeted followers at Twitter.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Follow by Keyword from the dropdown menu to launch the Follow by Keyword pop-up window.

To perform the Follow by Keyword task, you will highlight one of the users in the 'Selected Twitter Users' section, type your desired keyword in the "Search Key" input field and then click the START button located in the upper left corner of the Follow by Keyword pop-up window. Please allow some time to perform this task.

If you need to stop the task while it is operating, you can click the STOP button which is located on the upper left side of the pop-up window. After you have finished or stopped the task, click the RED X in the upper righthand corner of the pop-up window to close this section. See picture below:

Auto Reply:

Click Tasks > Auto Reply to automatically send @Replies to Twitter users who have sent an @Reply to you. The messages will be posted to your Twitter profile like a normal tweet so I suggest that you exercise caution when using this task unless you want your Twitter profile page full of identical messages posted to your profile @different users. If you do use this feature, be sure to create an @Reply message that is suitable for any message that you receive so it can be used for everyone and is obvious that you are sending an automated @Reply as a courtesy.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Auto Reply from the dropdown menu to launch the Auto Reply pop-up window.

To perform the Auto Reply task, you will highlight one of the users in the 'Selected Twitter Users' section, type your @reply in the "Reply Message" section (140 character limit) and then click the START button located in the upper left corner of the Auto Reply pop-up window. Please allow some time to perform this task.

You can also create a text file with your @Reply message and use that file for sending @Replies. Create a simple text file with the @Reply message (140 characters or less). In the Auto Reply section, use the "Select File" option to browse your computer, find the file and select it to load it.

If you need to stop the task while it is operating, you can click the STOP button which is located on the upper left side of the pop-up window. After you have finished or stopped the task, click the RED X in the upper righthand corner of the pop-up window to close this section. See picture below:

Auto DM:

Click Tasks > Auto DM to automatically send Direct Messages to your Twitter followers.

Important Note about Direct Messages: Please be aware that most Twitter users do not like direct messages especially if they are blatant marketing sales pitches like "Hello, you should try try this and buy this too!". Be forewarned that you may lose some followers if you send the wrong type of message. Generally, it is good etiquette to introduce yourself, thank them for following, ask about them and possibly include a link to your site. It is obviously your decision about how you will use the Auto DM feature but check your profile stats before and after sending your Direct Messages to see if you are losing more people than you are hoping to gain as customers or even simply maintain as followers.

There is also a Twitter limit of 250 Direct Messages per day per device (that means any device using the same internet connection) so be sure that you do not accidentally send to many DMs by sending 100 DMs for 5 different accounts which is a direct violation so be careful. Excessive use of DMs are a red flag to Twitter administration because it looks like spamming acitivity. Be very cautious when sending DMs because excessive use or any patterns of continuously maxing the limits can lead to suspension or blacklisting of your IP address.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Auto DM from the dropdown menu to launch the Auto DM pop-up window.

To perform the Auto DM task, you will highlight one of the users in the 'Selected Twitter Users' section, type your Direct Message in the "Message" section (140 character limit) and then click the START button located in the upper left corner of the Auto DM pop-up window. Please allow some time to perform this task.

You can also create a text file with your Direct Message and use that file for sending DMs. Create a simple text file with the Direct Message (140 characters or less). In the Auto DM section, use the "Select File" option to browse your computer, find the file and select it to load it.

If you need to stop the task while it is operating, you can click the STOP button which is located on the upper left side of the pop-up window. After you have finished or stopped the task, click the RED X in the upper righthand corner of the pop-up window to close this section. See picture below:

Keyword Trends:

Click Tasks > Keyword Trends to see the most commonly used keywords at Twitter for the day.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Keyword Trends from the dropdown menu to launch the Keyword Trends pop-up window. Click the START button located in the upper right side of the pop-up window to search for the most popular keywords being used on Twitter today.

Find User's ID and Screen Name:

Click Tasks > Find User's ID and Screen Name to find the User ID number (numeric User ID) of any user based on their Twitter screen name. You will need the numeric User ID (the number) for Auto Unfollow if you plan on creating a PROTECTED VIP LIST of people who will not be unfollowed, even if they are not following you.

First, click the Tasks menu on the main page and select Find User's ID and Screen Name from the dropdown menu to launch the pop-up window.

A) If you want to find the User ID number, you will type in the Twitter screen name in the "Enter Screen Name" field and then click the FIND button to display that user's numeric User ID. This number is the number that you will use to create a file for protecting people in your PROTECTED VIP LIST.

B) If you have a User ID number and want to find the Twitter screen name for that user then enter the numeric User ID number in the "Enter ID" field and click "FIND" button to display that user's screen name.
